Class - Serti Batik Basic

2 day class / Tues & Thurs (1:30 - 4:30)

Only 2 student capacity.

You will learn the basics of Serti Batik. "Serti" is a French word meaning, fencing in. A Tjanting tool is used with wax resist. 1 framed cotton, 1 framed silk is done with some sample cloth to practice. It is a 2 session class because I insist on experiencing color layering of the dyes. Procion Fiber Reactive Dyes are used. I mix the dyes as needed for the students.

When the class ends the students will have 2 pieces of cloth done with the Serti Batik Process.

The Class takes place in the Paradise Center for the Arts (Historic Downtown Faribault, MN) in the Batik Room. The dates are privately arranged with me based on availability.

Payment can be made directly to me via this website, or the Paradise Center for the Arts once all the details are aligned.

Class Cost Per Student: (Member) $150 (Non-Member) $165.00

Class Supplies: $20/student (The supplies include the textiles, dyes, wax and paper to iron out the wax.)
