The lampwork leaves are the main focal point of this design. Lampwork is a type of glasswork made by melting glass using a torch or lamp. Lampwork dates back to the 5th century BC. During the 14th century, lampwork beads became popular in Murano, Italy. In the mid 19th century, lampwork extended from beads to paperweights. Now lampworkers create beads, figurines, marbles, small vessels, Christmas tree ornaments, or whatever else the artist may dream up.

Tanya McGuire is the creator of the leaves for this kit. She  is so talented. She took our mixes and created leaves that would accent them perfectly. Her work is gorgeous and inspiring. She has been making lampwork beads since 2001. In 2003, she started selling her beads, and now it's her full time career.(Lucky for us!)

We also have "Leafy Paths". It's a Kumihimo kit. Soooo cool. I love that it almost looks like a textile. You just use a the regular Kumihimo disc and you're set.
